Chevy Chase Local Park

The Equipment
Though the equipment is a little older, my 4-year-old son found lots to entertain him, from a pair of stationary cars to a big bouncy seesaw. Even steering wheels mounted on metal bars were put to use, for pretend driving and also a climbing challenge. The two main structures here – one for younger kids, one for older – each have two slides. Two regular, one bucket and one adaptive swing are also within the woodchip-covered playground.
The Scene
While it does have a partial fence, the playground is very close to the road in a Chevy Chase neighborhood. There are some trees near the playground for partial shade. A tennis court sits right next to the playground. Down a hill are a soccer/baseball field and a basketball court (not that visible from the playground). Roughly three blocks away is Brookville Market (7027 Brookville Road), where you can get ice cream and other edibles.
