Cutter Mill Park
The Equipment
There are two separate playgrounds for both older and younger children. Elementary ages will find the wow factor in the giant spider web rope. A long, windy tunnel resembles a caterpillar while two climbing pieces look like a strand of DNA. There is a side-by-side slide, chin up bar, climbing wall with open space for footing, and percussion instruments if your kids want to have a jam session.
The tot lot features a police car bouncer and a small, practice basketball court. The main structure has a small rock wall, open climbing wall, steering wheel, and two slides. There is graffiti on the basketball court board, but it’s not very noticeable. Surprisingly there are no bucket swings for young toddlers.
The Scene
Cutter Mill is a shady park located along the busy Herndon Parkway. There is a parking lot and a small baseball field, but it isn’t maintained well. There are a few picnic tables randomly around the volleyball and basketball court. A small trail meanders around the perimeter leading to neighborhood homes.
Age Recommendation
Children ages 3 to 12 will enjoy this park.
Restrooms
Unfortunately there are none. There is room for them to consider installing a portable toilet.
