Diamond Farms Park

The Equipment
Nicely set back from the road, the playground at Diamond Farms Park is just beyond one full and one half basketball court. There’s a fence running around most of the play equipment, save one wide opening. A stand-alone curvy rock wall, with room for around 10 kids to climb simultaneously kept my five-year-old challenged. Another rock wall is one of many ways up to a large structure, with six slide options for going down. A typical playground zipline sits nearby. A playground piece aimed at younger kids includes three slides and is next to a small bouncy horse and springy car. Other features include four regular swings, two baby swings, and a two-seater bouncy seesaw. The playground, which sits on wood chips, is also right next to three tennis courts.
The Scene
A three-minute drive from Shawdowland Laser Adventures, the park is on a fairly quiet road (Quince Orchard Boulevard, not to be confused with busy Quince Orchard Road) near a school.  The shopping center with Shadowland includes a McDonald’s and Buffalo Wild Wings, and other eateries are just down the road. The park includes three picnic tables right next to the playground, as well as a large treeless grassy field. A tree in the center of the playground and some outside the fence provide decent shade. A creek just outside the playground fence includes a posted sign for “sewage overflow area.” The sides of the creek were covered in overgrowth, which makes for an additional deterrent to curious explorers.
