East Silver Spring Urban Park
The Equipment
The younger play area is fenced and has steering wheels, animal facts tic-tac-toe, net shaped step climber, monkey bars, short slide, climbing wall, percussion area, double slide and textured slide. There are three structures in the older elementary area. The first one has a double sided rock walls, slanted climbing beam, triangular sets of monkey bars and steel rings set in a circle formation. The second structure has a corkscrew and circular climber, zig zag slide, rock mountain, double slide, number tic-tac-toe and drums. The third structure has a cylinder rock wall and a triple slide.
The Scene
At first you wonder if you are in the right place as the park address bears the same location as the East Silver Spring Elementary School. It is true. The park is shared with the local school. This means the playground is open to the public when school is not in session. In addition to the spacious play area that is fenced, there is a small walk/bike trail, basketball court, hopscotch, four square and multi-use athletic field.
