Fairchester Woods Park
The Equipment
The main draw is the large, colorful play structure with a Clifford theme. From steering wheels to a tunnel, bumpy slides to a rock wall and more, my child forgave the sun for making the experience hot because she was having so much fun. There are spring rockers in the form of Clifford, a panda, and space ship; all of which were worn but loved. The vintage quartet of train teeter totters reminded me of growing up in the late 70’s. There are two bucket swings for tots, two standard swings, and a half basketball court.
The Scene
This small, quiet neighborhood park is a true gem in the City of Fairfax. Even if your child isn’t a fan of Clifford, there’s lots to love in this oldie but goodie park. Mature trees shade the swing sets, ride on toys, and picnic tables. The fenced park has a grass/gravel path which is manageable for strollers while the play equipment sits on mulch. When parking on the street, just pay attention to the signs as you can’t park directly outside the entrance.
Age Recommendation
All ages. My seven year old has already requested another visit to this park.
Restrooms
None, but don’t let that hinder you from coming to Fairchester Woods Park.
