Forest Hills Playground
The Equipment
There is a very large nature-themed climbing structure with slides that is the centerpiece of the park. There is a smaller climbing structure for younger kids as well. Other attractions include an igloo kids can climb, swings (including bucket swings and adaptive swings), a stand-up teeter-totter, climbing ropes, a kid-sized running track around the park, a chalkboard, and a sandbox.
The Scene
Forest Hills is located just off Connecticut Avenue in DC. There are a couple of preschools in the area that come to play at the park and it is a very popular neighborhood destination. The little-kid and big-kid areas are next to each other and not separated so it’s a good choice for families with children of different ages and abilities.

None, but there are several shops and restaurants within a few blocks that can be used in an emergency. Kid-friendly destinations within walking distance include the large children’s section and café at Politics and Prose Bookstore and the Italian Pizza Kitchen.
