Green Acres Center Park
The Equipment
All of the playground equipment sits on mulch. There are so many pieces of equipment to choose from that I had to pry my eight year old from the playground. From a gear board and fire truck to a suspension bridge and numerous climbing pieces, you can see why our family enjoys the playground. There are a half dozen slides, large jungle gym, giant bouncy balance beam, four toddler and 4 regular swings. A treat is the gazebo style sandbox complete with shovels and pails.
The Scene
Don’t be confused by the sign that reads Green Acres School. The former school is presently Green Acres Center and it serves many purposes. I had previously been inside where community events are held and daycare center shares the space. Even when the daycare center is open, a sign on the playground gate specifically states that the public may use the area at any time. There are several patio tables and grills in the front of the center.
Behind the center is a great big playground, basketball courts, hopscotch and four square on the blacktop and athletic fields. The fenced-in play space has no shade, but it is an absolute must visit. Not far from George Mason University, there is plenty of parking. Strollers will find it challenging as there are numerous stairs no matter which way you access the playground.

All ages.
Restrooms
