Heurich Mobility Playground
The Equipment
While the large playground is not fenced and there is graffiti on some pieces, the equipment is in good condition. The majority of the playground rests on a rubber surface while the swing set is surrounded by mulch. Toddlers can play in the gazebo that doubles as the town bank, play dinosaur tic-tac-toe, or an animal match up game. They can climb the metal chain, crawl through a tunnel, or tests their speed on several slides ranging from a double version, two curved versions, and a textured slide.
Three of the four toddler swings are in working condition, while only three of six regular swings are available. The standouts at this playground is the giant fish you can climb inside and the three level spiral slide. There is also a wide slide, double version, and a triple slide of different styles. Older kids can also practice their strength via a chin up bar, ladder, corkscrew climber, step climbers, rock wall or a trio of giant steering wheels that suspend from above.
The Scene
We stumbled upon this park by accident. Heurich Park is home to three playgrounds spanning a large radius. Just past the dog agility park sits the brightly colored Heurich Mobility Playground. Nestled in a neighborhood, there is a nice sized parking lot and green space. Don’t be turned off by the graffiti on some of the equipment. We traveled almost an hour to get here and after playing for nearly an hour, my child asked if we could return again!
