Andrew Leitch Park
The Equipment
New, colorful play structures are a welcome to the community. There are a few different structures here and each has unique features. There are various types of climbing and rock walls along with tree step climbers, zig-zag slides meant for climbing and a tunnel. There are numerous slides to whizz down. In order to access one of the longer slides, navigate through a pyramid shaped set of bars, angled bars, a ladder or rubber stumps. Also worth checking out is the horse rocker, flower stepping stumps, drums to tap on, talking tubes and the glorious amount of open space. The swing set contains three regular and a special needs swings.
The Scene
Andrew Leitch Park is worth the drive. In addition to the playground equipment, there are basketball courts, baseball fields and the Waterworks waterpark. There is ample open space, plenty of parking and a picnic shelter. The playground has a sidewalk leading up to the mulch surface. Benches and picnic tables are close to the equipment. One of the baseball fields there was being used for a friendly game of Frisbee. GPS may only show Woodbridge as the city. Either way, Andrew Leitch Park is on Dale Boulevard.
