Bready Park

The Equipment
There are two distinctive play areas.  The first thing I noticed was the modern merry-go round which can seat 5 and also allow 5 more people to stand on it at the same time.  There are a pair of see saws, a dual sided rock wall, spiral slide, colored climbing discs, bell, steering wheel, step climber and double slide.
The second structure is for older children and its crowning star is the giant series of large cargo nets that form a triangle.  There is also a suspension bridge, balance roller, step climber, floating steps, step climber, tic-tac-toe board, cylinder climber and rock wall.  There are a lot of great slides:  side-by-side, tunnel, wavy and enclosed spiral one.  The surface is mulch and the park is not fenced in, but it safely encompassed by other facilities.
The Scene
Bready Park is right by the W&OD Trail and a few minutes from the historic area of Herndon.  It’s a popular park with a playground, baseball and tennis courts, soccer field and large, reservable picnic pavilion.  There is ample parking.  If you get the munchies, down the road is a shopping center with Mellow Mushroom Pizza and Guapo’s.
Age Recommendation
4 and up.
Restrooms
Yes, but there is no changing area.
