Brentwood Park
The Equipment
The toddler area has a lot for little ones. For starters, there are swings, two horse spring rockers, a section of instruments. A plastic gazebo is filled with games like matching shapes and colors, spin racer, an abacus and animal tunes. There is also a rock mountain and a spaceship structure with a side-by-side slide.
Moving to the older section is a giant spider web, a Neos electronic game, swinging disc chair, pebble steps, standing spinner, “rock” formed mountains, floating steps and rock wall. Large cargo nets abound leading to abstract climbing walls and bars, a standing spinner, talking tubes and swings.
The Scene
Many DC parks got an overhaul the past few years as a result of the parks and recs department commitment to improving recreational facilities for the community. Brentwood Park offers a nice recreation center, large, fenced-in playground complete with a rubber surface, basketball court, baseball field, picnic shelter, fitness station and water fountain.
