Byrd Park

The Equipment
There are two play structures located on either side of the basketball court.  The first area is geared toward the younger crowd with two bucket swings and three transportation themed rockers.  The structure has a tic-tac-toe-board, tunnel, a pair of slides, two steering wheels and two climbing pieces of equipment.
The second area’s main draw is the blue loch ness monster structure to climb on.  A large and colorful angled climbing wall is flanked by a structure with suspended circular spinners and metal rings.  Always fun are the floating steps, whisper phones, and a type of jungle gym with plastic rocks instead of bars.  Adjacent to this playground is a swing set with four standard swings.
Both play areas consist of a mulch surface.  While the equipment isn’t fenced, it’s safe for little ones as the road and parking lot are a good distance away.  However, if you have kids of various ages, it is hard to see both play structures together.
The Scene
Byrd Park is located in a neighborhood cul-de-sac.  The park is a good size with a lot to offer visitors.  In addition to the playground, there is an athletic field, basketball court, adult fitness station, small picnic shelter with two tables and grills.  The only negative at the time of our visit, was the overflowing trash can.
Age Recommendation
Good for ages 2-12.
