Washington D.C. Youth Rugby

Washington DC Youth Rugby was founded in 2004 with the mission to reach out to under-served children in Washington DC to promote health and physical fitness and to teach valuable life skills through the sport of rugby.

Our Club is free for all the children. Boys and girls are learning an exciting new sport and having fun. In many cases there are limited organized youth activities available in their communities. Children are developing physical, mental and social health through their participation in our program. We encourage parental involvement and all of our staff and coaches are volunteers.

Our summer touch rugby program continues to be our core program which runs June to August and is open to children age 5 – 14 years old. Now in its 4th year, Washington DC Youth Rugby supports a tackle program for boys and girls at Bell Multicultural High School in Columbia Heights.

This year, our primary goal has been to offer flag rugby to as many District elementary and middle schools as possible. This is where we see Washington DC Youth Rugby experiencing real growth. In addition, we are excited to be offering boys and girls tackle rugby at Anacostia High School in the coming year.
