Bald Eagle Park

The Equipment
There are two standing structures with a mini jungle gym dividing the play equipment.  There are a total of four slides; three of which are wide-mouthed and one spiral version.  What sets this playground apart from others is that it has an individual sit-and-spin cup, a standing pole spinner, and a harness swing for children with special needs.  There are two regular swings and a bucket swing, which someone decided to make inaccessible by roping it around the top of the swing set.  A small tunnel, ladder, and plastic stepping stone mountain complete the playground features.  The surface is mulch and while there are trash receptacles, there was some debris on the ground.  A pair of picnic tables and benches are located inside the play space.
The Scene
It may not be located in the best neighborhood, but adjacent to the Bald Eagle Recreation Center rests Bald Eagle Park.  During our visit though, the park was gated so I had to duck under a bar to access the playground, which was bizarre.  A sign read that construction was taking place temporarily closing the basketball, tennis courts, and sports fields.  Even the large parking lot was gated, but street parking was easy to come by.  While I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit Bald Eagle, if you’re in the neighborhood, stop into the playground.
Age Recommendation
The sign states 2 to 12 year olds, but I think children up to age 10 would prefer this play area.
Restrooms
Located in the recreation center.
