Buckingham Park
The Equipment
Both playgrounds are fenced and the toddler area is shaded. While I admire the old school equipment, the elementary aged structure sits in full sun. The toddler area features three spring rockers in the form of a plane, horse and frog. The simple structure has a steering wheel, tic-tac-toe board, slide, and a short slide. There is also an elevated tunnel that reminds me of an inchworm.
The second play area for older children has a large, metal slide. There is a quartet of monkey bars shaped like a dome. I wasn’t sure how the other equipment operates, but it resembles a standing see saw that the kids operate by moving bars back and forth. I can’t see it being a popular item to play with, but who knows? There is a swing set with two bucket and two regular swings on the elementary aged playground.
The Scene
The small park is located in a neighborhood. It consist two playgrounds and an athletic field. There is plenty of parking. There is room near the big playground to ride bikes. Also, if you have little and big kids, note that the playgrounds are not close to one another.
