Cabin John Local Park
The Equipment
This quiet park has two structures along with a swing set boasting two bucket and four regular swings. The first structure has a spiral and tunnel slide, suspension bridge and four types of climbing apparatus including a chain rock wall. There is also a motorcycle rocker and a rubber bounce beam made for three children. The second structure is smaller and features a double slide, regular slide, tunnel and steering wheel.
The Scene
This nice, local park is close to a more famous park, Glen Echo. This is not to be confused with Cabin John Regional Park either. Just down the road from it, Cabin John Local Park has a nice, shaded playground, basketball and tennis court, football field, open space, picnic area with grills and large parking lot. For the hiking enthusiast, there is the Cabin John Trail, which merges with other trails. Enter the playground via the steps or the accessible ramp, which is on the far side of the lot.
